Microsoft Product Activation Nightmare

I had a need to call MS Product Activation in order to bring up a TS License Server located in an isolated DMZ (no online activation available).  Upon calling the 1-800 number and answering a few quick questions, I was apparently forwarded to a remote village in India staffed by a few partially English speaking assistants.  When the phone rang, it literally sounded like I was calling some very remote location.  The call quality immediately degraded to the point where I could barely hear the person on the other end.  Now imagine having a foreign speaking person, extremely poor call quality, and having to transpire 30+ digit activation codes.  We must have gone through the codes 10 times before they were finally correct.

Listen up Microsoft, either move your product activation call center back to the states or pay to get a decent phone line installed and some English training for the folks on the other end!

Nothing against India or their population, but this process was a nightmare…

The call brings up this old image in my head…
