NUTRiBULLET Review

I am not one for "As seen on TV" products.  When my wife came home with the NUTRiBULLET (by Magic Bullet), I was a bit skeptical to say the least.  Especially after finding out she spent 80$ on this gimmick!

We unpacked the product, read through the various included books, then started mixing odds and ends from the fridge and pantry.  To be honest, I was impressed.  The machine is significantly larger than how it appears on TV.  Perhaps this is because the NUTRiBULLET has a 600 watt motor instead of the ~300 watts of the original bullet. Either way, the NUTRiBULLET has the power to mix just about everything.  It is key to note the max fill lines on the sides of the cup.  If you overfill, the blade cannot properly digest the contents which results in a chunky shake.  Not a big deal, but that line is there for a reason.

The NUTRiBULLET has been in use in our home for about 5 days now and spawned at least one dedicated trip the the grocery to pick up grindables.  Here are some of the ingredients we have tried so far:

Strawberries
Blackberries
Raspberries
Kale
Spinach
Flax Seed
Goji Berries
Chia (very nutritious)
Banana
Yogurt
Protein Powder (Vanilla)
Soy Milk

If you blend something that does not taste so good, add a scoop of vanilla protein powder.   Helps to offset the taste and add some flavor and sweetness.  We use the inexpensive powder from Kroger which works great and is lower in cholesterol than chocolate.

In any case, the NUTRiBULLET is a great way to grind healthy foods to ensure you get the most from from the embedded nutrients.  Much better alternative to microwaving or steaming vegetables (which strip them of their nutritional values).  Even my kids enjoy the concoctions (not knowing what they are actually drinking).

Here is a pic of the NUTRiBULLET on our kitchen counter top:
